We’ve WON the Learn to Swim Provider of the year 2022!

We are delighted to announce that Xcite West Lothian Leisure has won in the 2022 Scottish Swimming Awards!

The Scottish Swimming Awards acknowledge the outstanding achievements of individuals in aquatics, alongside those whose work within partner organisations providing essential support for the whole aquatic community.  The Scottish Water Learn to Swim provider of the Year Award recognises the effort and commitment of Leisure Trusts and aquatic providers in creating and delivering high quality Learn to Swim programmes which help children and adults become confident, competent and safer swimmers.

A judging panel considered submissions from all over Scotland, with the three 2022 finalists announced as West Lothian Leisure, East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, and Fife Sports and Leisure Trust.  The 2022 winners were announced at an award ceremony in Edinburgh on Saturday 24th September and Xcite West Lothian were presented with the Learn2Swim Provider of the year award 2022!

Speaking on behalf of the trust, Karen Wernham,  Head of Operations commented:

"We are beyond delighted to have won the Scottish Swimming 'Learn to Swim Provider of the Year' award, sponsored by Scottish Water, following two years of hard work where we were determined to come out of the pandemic swimming better and stronger.  Our team at Xcite have driven the development and growth of our swim programme in all areas from teacher development, our ASN sessions, clubs, and increasing LTS availability by 1300 extra spaces per week whilst retaining c.90% occupancy.

This award means so much to everyone involved, and I couldn't be prouder of the impact all of the team's passion, commitment and hard work is having on enabling those coming back into our pools, to achieve their desired levels in a fun and safe environment.

To be recognised by our Governing Body partner at Scottish Swimming is a fantastic accolade and one that we will remain hugely proud of for a very long-time".
