Early Years

Adult and Baby

This is a fantastic way to introduce babies to an aquatic environment. The class teaches safe handling skills of babies in the water through the use of nursery rhymes and games, building the confidence of both the baby and parent in a fun and friendly environment! For babies aged up to 1yr.

Adult and Toddler

Adult & toddler classes build upon skills already learned through Adult & Baby classes, however it is not necessary to have attended Adult & Baby. This class focuses on the development of basic motor skills and swimming movements, through fun and games. For toddlers aged 1-2yrs.

Adult and Child

This class starts to introduce independence in the water in preparation for pre-school classes. The support of the adult is available for added encouragement and confidence. For children aged 2-3yrs.

Pre-School

Pre-school is the first opportunity for children to experience full independence in the pool. The emphasis is on having fun in the water through the use of games and imagination and is specific to their age and stage of development. Through play children will learn the core aquatic skills that are essential for a smooth progression through the Learn 2 Swim levels. For children aged 3-4½yrs.

Pathway to Local Club

On completion of Skills 4, your child will have completed our primary school pathway. They’ll have had a good level of knowledge and competency to continue their swimming journey. Please discuss with coaches the next steps once at this stage.

Club Ready Swim

Club Ready Swim provides an insight to the world of competitive swimming. Swimmers learn a variety of skills that will enable them to move seamlessly into the club environment. Club Ready Swim is a fantastic opportunity to explore competitive swimming before fully committing to a club.

Rookie

Rookie Lifeguard, affiliated with RLSS is available to children aged 8-15yrs who have completed at least Swim Skills 4 of the Learn 2 Swim Programme.

As a Rookie kids will learn special lifesaving skills to help save themselves and know what to do if others get into difficulty in the water. As well as offering parents the comfort of knowing your children are aware of the dangers of swimming, they will develop a solid safety education, and will learn rescue and resuscitation techniques.

There are three stages within Rookie, with each stage consisting of 3 skill levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Please not, Bronze must be completed before progressing accordingly through the levels

Diving Skills 1

Introduction to diving is an instructor led session teaching children how to correctly and safely dive from the side of the pool and then progressing up to diving blocks. This class is particularly useful for children who have discovered a passion for swimming and want to develop their skills!
