OPAL (Older People, Active Lives) & Xcite Games concluded with an event taking place in Whitburn Bowling Club on the 29th of September. After two weeks of 24 teams taking part in our games (new age kurling, bean bag game, quoits and ten pin bowling), all teams came together for a final celebration event!

Attendees of the events enjoyed refreshments of tea and coffee with fresh scones from a local bakery. It was then time for the awards ceremony of medals and trophies for all the winners and participants, which was presented by the Whitburn Citizen of the Year, Cathie Farren. Finally, everyone hit the dance floor and enjoyed a daytime disco from Weekday Wow Factor

We would like to say a massive thank you to Big Bird Nursery - Whitburn for the certificates made by the children and Morrisons Livingston Community Champion for the refreshments.

Thank you to everyone for taking part in the games and coming along to the event from Billie at OPAL and Avril at Xcite Ageing Well. This event couldn’t have taken place without the amazing work of all our incredible volunteers at OPAL and Xcite.

We are delighted to share this video showcasing our amazing teams taking part in the OPAL & Xcite Games over the past few weeks and our final event last week!
