Mental Health Awareness Week took place between 9-15 May 2022.
Although Mental Health Awareness was last week, at Xcite, we are passionate about the importance of mental health all year round.
Therefore, Xcite Broxburn Sports Centre are holding specialist classes between 16-22 May. These classes are designed to help you relax and de-stress, which are both proven to help improve mental health.

Monday 16th | 20:00-21:00 | Bedtime Yoga | Studio 2 | Slow Yoga practice to wind down after your day. |
Tuesday 17th | 14:00-15:00 | Yoga for Complete Beginners | Studio 2 | Introduction to the basics for anyone who would like to try yoga for the first time or hasn't practiced in a very long time. |
Tuesday 17th | 15:00-16:00 | Relaxation Hour | Studio 2 | Introduction to simple Yoga breath techniques which can be applied to daily life, followed by Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep) where the body and mind will be encouraged to release emotional tension, slowing down the nervous system and allowing the muscles and body to relax. |
Friday 20th | 14:00-15:30 | Yoga Life | Studio 2 | This session will highlight how the philosophy and principles of Yoga can really help you get the most out of life followed by a 60 minute yoga practice. |
Sunday 22nd | 12:00-13:30 | Yoga & Moving Forward Discussion | Studio 2 | This session will look at how the past 2 years post pandemic has affected as all in very different ways followed by a 60 minute Yoga practice to help move forward with a positive and connected outlook. |
Sunday 22nd | 13:45-15:15 | Restorative Yoga | Studio 2 | A 90 minute yoga practice where props will be used to "meet and support" the body, to allow it to actively rest, feel held and comforted, providing a state of rest and rejuvenation. Restorative poses focus on releasing ever deeper layers of tension within the body and mind. |
