Have fun with your child and enjoy some quality time whilst learning basic gymnastics skills, motor development and coordination. Work on body shapes, jumping, balance and rolling. Through play and music, the aim is to enhance their physical intellectual and social development.
Your child will move to the next level after their 3rd birthday.
2 levels for ages 3 – 4.5 years
Pre-school 1
This session will be your child’s first independent gymnastics class! Using familiar songs and music, they will learn the fundamental skills of movement and basic gymnastics techniques and shapes.
Pre-school 2
Readying your child for the move up to Skills 1 level, these sessions focus on fortifying basic skills and movement using hand apparatus and gymnastic equipment.
4 levels for ages from 4.5 years+
This class moves away from using play and music and will incorporate a warm-up activity and stretch. Children will use the skills and shapes developed in their Pre-school class, as well as starting to learn rolls, cartwheels and more strength and balance-related skills.
This level aims to increase skills competency learned in Level 1 and starts teaching your child complete skills by starting and finishing correctly. Core skills, such as rolls and bridges, will continue to be developed to increase flexibility and co-ordination.
Your child will have a good grasp of all core skills, so at this stage we will aim to develop these further with more challenging activities on equipment, such as balance beam and floorwork, as well as introducing new skills and variations.
Our final stage will see your child utilise all their knowledge and core skills to ensure that they are able to perform all skills with good starting and finishing technique, have experience of several kinds of gymnastics equipment and be confident in their own abilities. The positive benefits of gymnastics on mental and physical health in children are extensive and we aim to help your child, with these in mind, throughout their sessions with our coaches.
On completion of Skills 4, your child will have completed our primary school pathway. They’ll have had a good level of knowledge and competency to continue their gymnastics journey. Please discuss with your coaches at this stage how to continue your child’s gymnastic development.
