We’re thrilled to share that West Lothian Leisure (Xcite) has been shortlisted for not one, but two categories at the 2025 UK Active Awards: Regional Public Club/Centre of the Year for Scotland and the Organisational Innovation Award.
We’re proud to be recognised as a finalist for Regional Public Club/Centre of the Year for Xcite Linlithgow. With over 500,000 visits each year, our centre has become more than just a gym, it’s a true community hub. From menopause support and weightlifting clubs for older adults, to teen fitness programmes, Hyrox classes and inclusive gym spaces, everything we do is designed with our members in mind.
We’re equally excited about our shortlisting for the Organisational Innovation Award. Our Fitness Factory and Family Fitness Factory programmes have transformed how young people and families get active together. We’ve seen a 52% increase in teen gym visits, welcomed more than 500 families to train side by side, and even launched Xcite Mini Rocks, Scotland’s first family functional fitness event. Best of all, the idea for Family Fitness Factory came from one of our youngest members, 10-year-old Harris, showing the power of co-designing services with our community.
These nominations celebrate the hard work of our incredible team, the creativity and feedback of our members, and our shared mission to help West Lothian live healthier, happier and longer lives.
The winners will be announced later this year at the awards ceremony taking place on 30th October 2025 at the ICC Birmingham. We’re keeping everything crossed!
