Looking for a fun, inclusive sport that’s accessible to all and seriously addictive? Boccia could be just the thing for you!
Boccia is a relaxed precision ball game, similar to bowls or pétanque. Players throw, kick, or roll soft leather balls, aiming to get as close as possible to a small white target ball known as the “jack.” Because it’s played seated, Boccia is welcoming to people of all ages and abilities — making it one of the most inclusive sports around.
To mark National Boccia Day this Saturday, Xcite Broxburn is inviting the community to a FREE taster session from 1–3pm. It’s the perfect chance to give Boccia a go, discover how much fun it can be, and even be in with a chance to win a 3-month Xcite membership worth over £120!
Local former Paralympic athlete Jim Anderson OBE will join the Xcite Broxburn team on the day, helping to host some fun Boccia-themed challenges and showing his support for the sport he loves.
Can’t make it along this weekend? No problem — Boccia is here to stay at Xcite Broxburn. A weekly session runs every Tuesday, 2–3pm, and everyone is welcome. No booking is required.
