The movable pool floor at Deans High School has been out of use for some time due to a mechanical fault. We’ve been working closely with our partners at West Lothian Council and specialist maintenance contractors to arrange the necessary repairs.
We can now confirm that repair work is scheduled to begin on Friday 31st October 2025, and is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete. During this period, the pool will be temporarily closed.
To minimise disruption, all Aqua classes and Learn to Swim lessons will be relocated while repairs take place. Please see below for full details of the temporary arrangements.
As it stands, these changes will remain in place until Tuesday 25th November. If we’re able to reopen the pool sooner than this however, we’ll post an update on our website and social channels, as well as contacting all affected lesson participants and class bookings direct with details.
Monday's 7.40 am Aquafit classes will relocate to Xcite Bathgate on the 24th November.
Monday 3rd and 10th November classes, has it has been cancelled.
Classes will be bookable online and via the Xcite Bathgate page on the Xcite WLL app.
Tuesday's 7.40am Aqua Fit classes on will relocate to West Calder High.
Classes will be bookable online and via the West Calder High School page on the Xcite WLL app.
Unfortunately, we have been unable to relocate Wednesday's 7.40am Aqua Zumba classes and they will be cancelled during the pool closure.
All lessons that currently take place on a Saturday morning (up until 2.30pm) will relocate to Xcite Bathgate for the duration of the closure. Lesson day, times and teachers will remain the same.
All lessons that currently take place on a Saturday afternoon (from 3pm onwards) will relocate to Xcite Bathgate for the duration of the closure.
There will be some slight changes to the lesson times on this day:

To accommodate the relocation of these classes, some sessions may be merged where class capacities allow for this.

All lessons that currently take place on a Wednesday evening (3.40pm onwards) will relocate to Xcite Winchburgh Sport & Wellbeing Hub for the duration of the closure. Lesson day, times and teachers will remain the same.
All lessons that currently take place on a Thursday will relocate to Inveralmond High School for the duration of the closure. Lesson day, times and teachers will remain the same.
