Xcite Monthly Direct Debit: First Membership instalment and joining fee paid in advance when applying for membership using one of the following payments methods: Cash or Credit/Debit card. Monthly instalments will be made on the 1st of each calendar month on a rolling Direct Debit system.
Xcite Annual Payment: When applying for an Annual Subscription the full 12 months plus joining~/ fee will be payable in advance. Annual Subscriptions are non-refundable. The following payment methods are acceptable Cash or Credit/Debit Card.
WLL and Xcite Pay-Per-Visit: Customers can pay for facilities and service as they visit, or in advance of their visit, via pre-booking using the following payment methods: Cash or Credit/Debit Card.
Xcite Active: (26-66yrs) Includes use of the Gym,7 day advanced booking, in-venue Fitness Classes, Swimming, Sauna and Steam Rooms, at any Xcite West Lothian Leisure venue during normal opening hours. Does not include Adult Swim Lessons.
Xcite Active+: (26-66yrs) Includes use of Gym, 8 day advanced booking, in-venue Fitness Classes, Swimming, Sauna, Steam Rooms, Racquet Sports and Adult Swim Lessons at any West Lothian Leisure Xcite venue during normal opening hours. Plus: access to Golf at Xcite Bathgate and Polkemmet Golf and Driving Range, Exert H.I.I.T. Classes, Box12 studio and Xcite Online on-demand fitness classes.
Xcite Active 67+:(67yrs+) Includes use of Gym, with 8 day advanced booking, in-venue Fitness Classes , Swimming, Sauna, Steam Rooms, Racquet Sports and Adult Swim Lessons at any West Lothian Leisure Xcite venue during normal opening hours. Plus: access to Golf at Xcite Bathgate and Polkemmet Golf and Driving Range, Exert H.I.I.T. Classes, Box12 studio and Xcite Online on-demand fitness classes. Proof of age is required.
Xcite Young Adult: (16yrs-25yrs) Includes use of Gym, 7 day advanced booking, in-venue Fitness Classes, Swimming, Sauna, Steam Rooms and Racquet Sports at any Xcite West Lothian Leisure venue during normal opening hours. Plus: access to Golf at Xcite Bathgate. Proof of age is required.
Xcite New Gen: (0-17yrs) Includes use of Gym for 12yrs+, Swim and Racquet Sports at any Xcite West Lothian Leisure venue during normal opening hours and access to Golf at Xcite Bathgate. Proof of age must be provided. Fitness Factory induction must be completed to access the Gym.
Xcite Academy: (0-17yrs) includes one coaching activity from our Coaching Programme. Please see our website for current coaching activities. Proof of age must be provided. Note this is a coaching only membership and does not include any other activities such as public swimming, racquet sports or soft play.
Xcite Academy+: (0-17yrs) includes access to full range of coaching activities from our Coaching Programme. Please see our website for current coaching activities. This membership option also includes public access to Gym (12yrs+), Swimming, and Soft Play. Proof of age must be provided.
Xcite Online: (16yrs+). Access to all online, on-demand fitness class via the Xcite Online platform.
Xcite Golf: Includes unlimited access to Golf at Polkemmet Golf Course, and Golf at Balbardie Park situated at Xcite Bathgate.
Xcite Corporate Includes same access as Xcite Active+ Membership, except from Adult Swim Lessons.
Access Xcite: Adults will have same level access as Xcite Active+ Membership. 67yrs+ will have same access as Xcite Active 67+ Membership. Under 18yrs will have access to Xcite Academy+ Membership.
Registered User: Customers must be registered with West Lothian Leisure to make any bookings for services. Payment for these services must be made at the time of booking. Children under 16yrs are not permitted to make phone or online bookings when payment is required without the bill payer’s permission. Pay-per-visit single activity booking payments are non-refundable once a booking is made and payment is received. You can transfer your pay- per-visit booking if notify us of your cancellation 24hrs prior to your activity booking start time by contact reception. Note transferred booking must be within 7 days of original booking. Holiday Activity Courses are non-refundable or transferable.
1. Fees
Membership, administration and booking fees are non-refundable, except where West Lothian Leisure is found to be in breach of contract.
2. Membership Agreement and Payments
All memberships are legally binding contracts between the applicant and West Lothian Leisure. Members are responsible for ensuring that all fees are paid in full and on time.
For Direct Debit memberships, payments will be collected on or shortly after the first working day of each month. If a payment fails, the outstanding balance must be paid via your online account or with assistance from our reception team.
Memberships will not automatically terminate if a payment fails. Future Direct Debit requests will continue unless we receive a cancellation request from you (see clause 14).
3. Right to Refuse Membership
West Lothian Leisure reserves the right to refuse any application for membership or registration where there are reasonable grounds to do so.
4. Membership Cards
Membership cards will be issued on your first visit and must be used to gain entry on every visit.
5. Use of Membership Cards
Membership and registered user cards (ID and PIN) are non-transferable. Use by anyone other than the registered member will result in cancellation of membership without refund. A photograph will be taken and stored against your membership record for identification purposes.
6. Compliance with Rules
Members must comply with all rules relating to the use of venues, facilities, products and activities.
7. Suspension or Cancellation by Us
West Lothian Leisure reserves the right to suspend or cancel any membership or registered access, without refund, where there are reasonable grounds to do so.
8. Activity Booking Limits
To ensure fair access, activity bookings are limited to one booking per day, particularly during busy periods.
9. Replacement Access Media
The cost of replacing a membership band or sticker issued for check-in at reception or use with Technogym equipment is the responsibility of the member or registered user.
10. Changes to Terms and Membership Options
We may amend membership options or these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will take effect once published on our website. The most up-to-date version will always be available online and at our venues.
11. Membership Fee Changes
We reserve the right to review monthly membership fees at our discretion and Direct Debit payments may increase or decrease accordingly. We will give you at least 14 days notice of any proposed increase or decrease, and you will have the right to cancel your membership. If we do not hear from you, we deem that you have accepted the price change. We will notify you by email of any updates to your membership, it is your responsibility to make sure we have your correct and up-to-date email address. We are not responsible for how your email inbox filters our emails. If you do not supply us with an email, you may miss out on important updates regarding your membership. You can update your email address at any Xcite reception.
12. Pay-As-You-Go Pricing
Pay-per-visit prices may also be reviewed and changed. At least 14 days’ notice will be provided on our website and in venue.
13. Availability of Services
Occasionally, circumstances beyond our control may affect service availability. Access to venues and activities is therefore subject to availability. Members may use any Xcite venue, and alternative locations may be available if your usual venue is unavailable.
14. Cancellation of Monthly Memberships
To cancel your membership, you must complete the online cancellation form available on our website.
Requests received on or before the 23rd of the month will be processed, and membership will remain active until the day before the next payment is due, after which it will terminate.
Direct Debit collection begins on the second-last working day of each month. Once this process starts, payments cannot be stopped. Requests received after the cut-off date will be processed the following month.
We recommend if you are cancelling that you cancel your Direct Debit with your bank if you have no other links connected to that Direct Debit instruction.
15. Annual Memberships
Annual memberships are non-refundable.
16. Promotional Offers
Unless otherwise stated, existing members are not eligible to apply for promotional membership offers.
17. Eligibility for New Offers
To qualify for a new membership offer, you must not have held a membership within the previous 31 days.
18. Lockers
Lockers are not included with membership and are available for a small refundable deposit.
19. Cooling Off Period
You have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase. If you choose to cancel within this period, you will be entitled to a full refund. However, we reserve the right to deduct a charge for any services used during the 14-day period.
20. Coaching Programme Availability
Due to factors beyond our control, venues or coaching sessions may occasionally be unavailable. All activities and services are therefore subject to availability.
Coaching sessions may occasionally be removed or rescheduled. While we will try to provide alternatives, we cannot guarantee the same day, venue or time.
21. Coaching Programme Delivery
We aim to deliver the coaching programme over 48 weeks each year, with a guaranteed minimum of 44 lessons during this period. The monthly Direct Debit payment structure is based on this 44-lesson format. The remaining four unpaid weeks allow for possible cancellations due to exceptional circumstances that may affect our services and result in Xcite Venues or the Kids Coaching Programme being unavailable for a limited time.
If no cancellations occur, these weeks may result in additional lessons being delivered at no extra cost.
22. Membership Freezes
Members may request to freeze their membership for up to three months, subject to eligibility criteria. Requests must be received by the 21st of the month to take effect from the 1st of the following month. Full details are available on our website.
23. Promotional Campaigns
Not all membership types are included in promotional campaigns. Exclusions will be clearly stated in the relevant promotional terms & conditions.
24. Privacy
By using our services, you agree to the practices outlined in our Privacy Policy. Full details are available on our website.
25. Activity & Venue Availability
Not all activities included within your membership will always be available at your preferred venue, day, or time. Programme scheduling is managed on a region-wide basis to ensure the best possible delivery of services across West Lothian.
If an activity is not available at your preferred location or time, it will typically be available at an alternative Xcite venue or at a different day or time within the programme. You may be required to attend another Xcite venue to access certain activities included in your membership.

Xcite Premier: (25yrs-59yrs) Includes use of the gym, fitness classes, swimming, sauna & steam room, badminton, squash, short tennis, tennis, table tennis, golf, and indoor bowling activities at any West Lothian Leisure Xcite venues during normal opening hours.
Xcite Gold: (25yrs-59yrs) Includes use of gym, swimming, sauna & steam room, badminton, squash, short tennis, tennis, table tennis, golf, and indoor bowling activities at any West Lothian Leisure Xcite venues during normal opening hours.
Xcite Silver: (25yrs-59yrs) This membership is not valid to new members joining after 1 April 2020. Those who remain on a Silver Membership level will have access to the use of gym, swimming, sauna & steam room, badminton, squash, short tennis, tennis, table tennis, golf, and indoor bowling activities at any West Lothian Leisure Xcite venues between Opening Time - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Xcite POL: (60yrs+) Includes use of the gym, fitness classes, swimming, sauna & steam room, badminton, squash, short tennis, tennis, table tennis, golf, and indoor bowling activities at any West Lothian Leisure Xcite venues during normal opening hours. Proof of age must be provided.
Xcite Student: (25yrs-59yrs) Includes use of the gym, fitness classes, swimming, sauna & steam room, badminton, squash, short tennis, tennis, table tennis, golf, and indoor bowling activities at any West Lothian Leisure Xcite venues during normal opening hours. Available to all students enrolled in further education. Proof of study is required: student card, course enrolment confirmation letter or receipt for course fees.
Xcite Young Adult: (16yrs-24yrs) Includes use of the gym, fitness classes, swimming, sauna & steam room, badminton, squash, short tennis, tennis, table tennis, golf, and indoor bowling activities at any West Lothian Leisure Xcite venues during normal opening hours. Proof of age must be provided.
Xcite Junior: (0yrs-15yrs) Those who remain on a Junior Membership level will have access to Teentone, Swimming, Learn 2 Swim, Rookie Lifeguard, Beach Parties, Racquet Sports, Golf at Xcite Bathgate, Indoor Bowling, Soft Play, and Supervised Soft Play, at any West Lothian Leisure Xcite venues. Coached Courses & Learn 2 Swim are restricted to one per member per block/per week. Activities may be age restricted. Pool Rules apply. Proof of age must be provided. Junior Members get 10% off Xcite Birthday Party Bookings.
U18yrs Fitness Membership: (0-17yrs) Includes use of gym for 12yrs+, swimming and racquet sports at any West Lothian Leisure Xcite venues during normal opening hours. Proof of age must be provided.
Single Coaching Membership: (0-17yrs) includes one coaching activity from our Coaching Programme. Current Coaching Activities include Learn 2 Swim, Gymnastics, Football, Golf and Hockey. Proof of age must be provided. Note this is a coaching only membership and does not include any other activities such as public swimming or racquet sports.
Multiple Coaching Membership: (0-17yrs) includes multiple coaching activities from our Coaching Programme. Current Coaching Activities include Learn 2 Swim, Gymnastics, Football, Golf and Hockey. This membership option also includes access to Gym (12yrs+), Swimming, Racquet Sports, Born to Move and Soft Play. Proof of age must be provided.
Xcite Active 12 Month Contract: Any memberships which clearly specify a 12 month minimum contract period means members are committed to 12 monthly payments and the membership cannot be cancelled within a 12 month period from when membership commenced.
