Xcite Outdoors is the new name for Low Port Centre following the move to our location at Xcite Linlithgow.  For many years Low Port provided high quality first aid training to many organisations and businesses within West Lothian.  At Xcite Outdoors we will continue to provide this service to ensure that you are trained to a high standard in First Aid provision, giving you the confidence that all pupils, staff, customers, and service users are all well cared for in the event of accident, illness or emergency.

 

Our comprehensive delivery of the following courses offers a ‘one-stop shop’ approach to First Aid and has meant many customers come back to us to update their qualifications knowing and trusting in our high-quality delivery and the friendly service offered. All our QA courses are regulated to National Industry Standard through our affiliation to Qualsafe Awards, a leading body within First Aid industry.

QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)                                    £180

This 2-day (12 hours) qualification is specifically designed for individuals who wish to develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, including: assessing an emergency, dealing with an unresponsive infant or child, CPR, choking, meningitis, head and spinal injuries, anaphylaxis, asthma and more.

QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) Initial                             £240

 

This 3-day (18 hours) qualification is specifically designed for individuals who wish to act as a first aider in their workplace. Successful candidates will learn how to manage a range of injuries and illnesses that could occur at work and will be equipped with the essential skills needed to administer first aid.

Courses for early 2024: 26-28 February

 

QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) Requalification             £180

 

This course revalidates the Initial 3-day course and should be completed every 3 years to ensure currency of qualifications (HSE Guidance). Courses are 2 days (12 hours) in duration with the emphasis being on going over the content of an initial course at a slightly faster pace based on the understanding that learners are familiar with the topics.

First Aid at Work Annual Refresher (QAR)                                           £45

 

The First Aid at Work Annual Refresher course is specifically designed to allow qualified first aiders to update and refresh their skills annually until 3 yearly requalification training is required. Successful candidates will leave with a renewed confidence, having had the opportunity to practise essential first aid procedures, as well as learning any updated guidance needed to deal with an emergency. With all subjects covered in just half a day (3 hours) this course is an ideal way to satisfy HSE requirements whilst minimising disruption to your organisation’s day to day activities!

QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)                     £85

 

This qualification is designed for individuals who wish to act as an emergency first aider in their workplace. Upon successful completion of this 1-day (6 hours) qualification, candidates will be equipped with the essential skills needed to give safe, prompt, and effective first aid in emergency situations. Content includes dealing with an unconscious casualty, CPR and use of AED, bleeding, and shock.

First Aid for Schools                                                                                £72

 

Xcite Outdoors will also continue to offer the First Aid for Schools programme to all schools across West Lothian – we usually run these 6hr courses over either one in-service day or, alternatively, two Friday afternoons (or other times to suit the school staff). These first aid awareness courses provide an overview of common ailments and emergencies often encountered in the school environment and continue to be popular with many of the schools across the Authority. Please note this is a bespoke first aid awareness course and not a regulated First Aid at Work qualification.
