Xcite cafés across West Lothian have received a Healthy Living Award from NHS Scotland.
The accolade is in recognition of the selection of new healthy snacks and homemade meals which have been introduced by the Xcite Café Team.
The Healthy Living Award recognises and rewards catering businesses across Scotland for making it easier for you to eat more healthily when eating out.
By meeting the criteria customers are guaranteed that over 50% of food served is prepared using healthier ingredients, using less fat, salts and sugar. Fruit and healthy snacks are also more readily available.
Mark McVerry Assessment Co-ordinator from Healthy Living NHS presented the awards to Xcite Catering Manager, Danna Kilpatrick and Café Managers, Kim Cavanagh, Ian Gardiner and Julia Menzies.
Mark said: "We know people are looking for a healthier choice when eating out and it is fantastic to see Xcite adapting to this market and actively promoting healthier food to their customers. It is a pleasure to be able to give them the recognition that they deserve."
The Healthy Living Award is managed by NHS Health Scotland, and is funded by the Scottish Government.
