Hi I am Claire and I will be sharing my experiences from joining Xcite gym, going through my induction and all other areas that Xcite have!

Starting in a new gym can often feel daunting – ekkk, especially when you are unsure how to work the machines or a bit self-conscious if you are using them properly. My Xcite Welcome (induction) gave me get lots of information and took away the awkwardness of entering the gym for the first time!

On arriving, the friendly reception staff at Xcite Bathgate checked me in and showed me where to go and wait for my Gym Instructor. I was met by Kevin, who was friendly and easy going which immediately made me feel more comfortable.

During the session, Kevin gave me my own TechnoGym key, which stores my programme, starts the kit and records my workouts.

After checking in with my key I was shown how to use the Cardio Equipment, Resistance Weight Machines, Pure Strength and the free weights area. This made me feel way more confident for the next time I stepped in the gym in knowing that I could get started straight away. Looking around there was a good mix of age groups and fitness levels. All the kit in the gym was very modern and everything was kept clean and tidy. It had a really friendly atmosphere.

Overall my Welcome took about 20 to 30 minutes and was very worth the time. It’s a key player in starting off on the right foot in the gym. Having previously used other gyms that don’t offer inductions it meant a lot of time wandering around the gym trying to figure out how machines worked but having Kevin go through everything with me meant this didn’t have to happen! Kevin talked me through my own fitness experience and reasons for joining. He made me aware of all the Xcite Options that come with my Xcite membership, such as regular programme review to suspension training allowing me to add diversity to my workouts… at no extra cost!

Having been regularly since I know the Xcite Team are always on-hand in the gym if I have any questions or to help me out if you are unsure of an exercise. I’ve been using ‘My Xcite’ App which allows me to check my workout from my phone and add my daily activities, so even the walk to the train is accounted for! Now its January I’ve already booked in for my next programme review and might even go and try the new Omnia 8 at Xcite Linlithgow or Livingston.
