Before you visit your local venue, there are a couple of things you need to know, please click here for more info.

When will my child's swimming lessons resume?

We plan to start swimming lesson back on Monday 14 September. All customers will be contacted directly via email with update. Your first week will be a show around the venue on how to drop off and collect your child for their lesson. Kids will not be in the pool week 1.

When I return, will I have the same time slot and be in the same class for swimming lessons?

Will be contacting all our Learn 2 Swim customers regarding their lessons times. We have made significant changes to the programme due to pool time availability and how we can operate lessons. We have closed the pool to the public during all lesson times.

Will I have the same swimming teacher when I return?

This is not guaranteed, when you receive your confirmation email it will include the swim teachers name.

Will children be social distanced during swimming lessons?

We are encouraging social distancing between the children in the lessons, however, guidance states this is no longer necessary. Our teachers will be teaching in a new way to enable this. Swimming Lessons are Instructor led whom determine direction of travel and therefore controlling distance and duration of any close contact can be controlled by the instructor.

Why have you reduced swimming lessons to 20 minutes?

We understand the children have had a long break away from the pool and may have some anxieties about returningSwimming stamina may not be the same as before so we are easing the children back into lessons. The 10-minute turn around will also allows us to better manage the changing facilities and limit the number of people within the area while adults still need to socially distance. Lesson times will increase to 25mins from 5 October.

Why are teachers advised to teach from the side, but parents are allowed in the water?

As social distancing is still required for adults, this includes our teacher contact with the children. To allow maximum pool space for the children in the lesson, teachers will only enter the water in the case of an emergency. In line with recommendation from Scottish Swimming, this is also viewed as the safest way to teach.

Parent and Child classes have been reviewed to allow more tank space to permit social distancing between the adults.
