Derek joined Xcite in January 2019 to start his weight loss journey and over the course of the year, he has managed to smash his fitness goals!

To start his Total Wellness Journey, he booked in for a START WELL appointment with Karen Hughes, Gym Instructor at Xcite Armadale. At this appointment, Derek discussed his goals, took a Health MOT and got familiar with the kit in the gym. He was and still is dedicated to booking STAY WELL appointments with Karen every 6-8 weeks to review his personalised programme and to allow for adjustments to be made. Karen made sure that he wasn't only working hard in the gym but his diet was on point too! He predominately started with cardio to increase fitness levels and then introduced weight training. Derek also regularly attended Xcite Option: Free Weight Training sessions to improve his technique and to ensure the exercises are carried out correctly.

Derek is going to use the knowledge he has gained to carry on sustaining his new level of fitness and to live a healthy balanced life whilst enjoying the odd kebab at the weekend!
