As part of a wider review of our products and memberships, and benchmarking prices against other Leisure Trusts in Scotland, we are implementing some changes from Monday 6 September 2021 and this includes discounted swim sessions.
What is the change?
Our discounted West Lothian Resident Over 60yrs swim session price will be £2.00 per swim session from Monday 6 September.
This remains below within the national average (£2.62) and is over 50% cheaper than a full price of a swim of £4.50 at our venues (£6.50 at Xcite Livingston).
To bring our age group pricing in line with Government State Pension we are updating the age for all our senior products to 65yrs, this includes our discounted swim sessions.
However, if you are 60-64yrs and already registered with us for our current swim discount, we’ll protect this, and you can continue to enjoy this benefit at the new £2.00 price.
Any new customers under 65yrs will not be eligible.
Access Xcite
We continue to offer our concessionary scheme Access Xcite and there will be no change to the swim session price. The age group will also change to 65yrs+ but all current 60-64yrs Access Xcite registered users can continue to enjoy the discounted price.
Why the change?
Like many organisations our income has been impacted by the pandemic over the last 18 months, this combined with ongoing increased energy costs has had a direct impact on us financially. Along with support and funding from West Lothian Council, we are continuing to re-build our organisation as customers return and capacity levels increase.
The actual running cost of a swim session is £12 per person.
From benchmarking against pricing across Scotland, and engaging with other trusts, we do feel the £2.00 price remains good value for the quality of service we provide, and our established concessionary scheme gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy a swim at their local venue.
Many thanks
The Xcite Team
