Outdoor Activities Update
On Wednesday 24 June, the Scottish Government announced an update on Outdoor Sport Courts. This is fantastic news, and we are super excited! We will, as always, follow the guidance from the government and sporting governing bodies with relation to safety and social distancing. We appreciate your patience while we iron out the detail and implement safety procedures.
Xcite Online Workouts are Here!
We are happy to announce that online fitness classes have arrived! We have been working closely with our fab fitness instructors to bring you an online fitness class timetable for everyday of the week. All workouts are available to access for free via Facebook!
We are delighted to announce that Polkemmet Golf and Driving Range and the Golf Course at Xcite Bathgate will re-open on Friday 29 May 2020 in line with Scottish Government Guidelines. We have been working in the background to ensure that the facility is safe to open for both our customers and staff. We appreciate your patience and support while we implement the changes on the course and to our booking system.
We're getting ready to welcome you back
Tap on image below to see how we are implementing changes to welcome you back when it is safe to do so!
To all our customers
All West Lothian Leisure venues and services: Xcite/Howden Park Centre/Low Port/Secondary School Booking and our head office remain closed until it is safe to re-open.
At present we are uncertain when all our venues will be able to open and continue to follow Government guidelines. We are working in the background on the safest options to open your facilities when we are able to do so. By standing by us you're helping us to return when we can open our doors.
The majority of our team have been furloughed (which means they are not working) to enable us to apply for the government assistance towards a percentage of our staff wages. There is a small team continuing to work in the background to ensure we keep our customers up-to-date and the organisation well maintained so we are ready to welcome you back.
We have been overwhelmed by your support - thank you!
We know it is a difficult time for you and your family, the community, as well as our staff. We’d like to stay connected to help each other keep active and healthy, both physically and mentally. The best way to do this is through our facebook, twitter or instagram where you can access workouts and activities for all ages.
Did you know you can make a donation?
As a charity we are reliant on income from memberships, lets and customer visits. The closure of our venues has had a significant impact on the organisation - our earned income has effectively disappeared overnight. We have invested in the health and wellbeing of the West Lothian community for over 21 years, including specific programmes for the most vulnerable and want to continue this valuable work when we re-open.
Over 300 of our customers have donated their direct debit payment and we are extremely grateful. You can opt to donate your direct debit payment to help contribute to sustaining your local gyms, swimming pools, sports facilities and health services for the West Lothian community. If you would like to make a donation please find out more here.
Please take the time to watch Jimmy’s and Ashley’s stories and learn more about the good work we hope to continue in the West Lothian.
We hope our updated FAQ's will help answer any queries you may have.
