Job Purpose – overview

Your role is to work as part of the HR Team providing generalist support and advice to managers and staff whilst coordinating work across the Organisation in areas of designated responsibility.

Core Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Provide coherent and strategically focused information and advice to managers on all employee relations issues including contracts, disciplinary, grievance and absence matters

Provide advice and support to managers to ensure the capture of accurate time and attendance information

Resolving pay queries

Provide a comprehensive recruitment and selection service.

Carry out investigations and prepare reports

Process HR and payroll information, ensuring the accuracy of HRM system systems

Assist in the identification of training needs and deliver training for managers and staff

Undertake planned HR initiatives to achieve continuous improvement.

Analyse and report on Payroll and HRM information and statistics

Assist in the audit and reporting of HR procedures

Maintain confidential and sensitive employee records

Assist in the procurement and distribution of staff uniforms and badges.

Provide the highest standard of customer service.

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills 

  • Demonstrates excellent core organisational competencies.
  • CIPD Level 3 Diploma in HRM or equivalent
  • 2-3 years in an HR generalist role
  • Hold or willingness to study for the ILM level 3 Coaching certificate within first year of post.
  • Excellent knowledge of current employment legislation and experience of giving advice to others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Can write comprehensive and detailed reports and letters.
  • Highly competent level of skill with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and HRM systems
  • Demonstrable experience of dealing with conflict, sensitive and highly confidential matters
  • Hold and maintain a current valid driving license [and use of a vehicle].
  • Willingness to continuously develop and attend training and development sessions in line with your personal training plan, on occasion out-with your normal hours of work, to ensure the required level of competence.

Desirable Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • CIPD Level 5 Diploma in HRM or equivalent
