Job Purpose – overview

We are the delivery partner of choice for national agencies and local organisations responsible for improving lives through sport, health, physical activity, outdoor education and culture. Your role is to deliver and develop the Charity’s: marketing and communication activity, brand reputation, create awareness of our products and services, increase sales, and communicate with customers.  You will also create and source engaging and shareable content to be posted across social media and other digital channels.  You’ll be responsible for helping create, plan, implement and monitor our Social Media strategy in order to increase and improve our marketing efforts and increase sales. You will increase web traffic and customer engagement metrics aligned with broader marketing strategies.

 

 Core Accountabilities & Responsibilities

·       Support the Marketing Communication Manager.

•         Assist in the Development and delivery of Marketing and Communication Plan.

·       Manage and develop the organisation’s online accounts: Websites, Apps, Social Media, Google Business pages and other digital platforms.

·       Execute successful online campaigns via social media, google ads and YouTube advertising.

·       Increase online traffic and online sales.

·       Write copy for all platforms – print and online.

·       Ensure all content is accurate and up-to-date.

·       Assist and develop onsite and external advertising.

·       Adhere to brand guidelines. 

·       Manage and develop image library – photo and video.

·       Provide monthly reports on online activity.

·       Assist in overseeing monthly online advertising budget.

·       As part of the Marketing and Sales Team create and execute successful marketing campaigns.

•         Manage the e-communication platform including budget management for digital.

•        Assist and develop e-communication and membership online journey.

•        Write, deliver and manage emails and e-newsletters to engage and update members on services and available offers to them.

•        Monitor and analyse email traction and membership journey.

•        Run bounce reports for Membership team to update database.

·       Write Press Releases for local, national and industry publication (print/online).

·       Actively source good news stories from across the organisation.

·       Work with external PR/Communication Agencies.

·       Monitor Charity and Brand reputation online and in the press.

•         Process purchase orders, process invoices and assist in procurement of suppliers.

•         Work closely, and manage workload, of Digital Contract to deliver on Marketing Communication Plan.

•         Work closely with the Graphic Designer to deliver on Marketing Communication Plan

•         Provide training to staff when required on digital platform functions.

•         Work with partners and stakeholders to increase marketing and communication activity and awareness.

•         Work with organisation’s managers and frontline staff across the business.

•         Willing to work flexible hours when required.

 Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills

·       Excellent Customer Service skills

·       Demonstrates excellent core organisational competences.

·       1-2 years in a Marketing Role.

·       Excellent business knowledge and experience of online technologies: Website, Apps, Social Media, Google Analytics, Google Ads, SEO, e-mail marketing and You Tube Ads

·       Excellent working knowledge of Content Management Systems.

·       Experience in online reporting and analysis.

·       Experience in CRS system.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both offline and online.

·       Experience in writing copy for Press Releases. 

·       Excellent knowledge of current marketing practices.

·       Experience of online usability and best practise.

·       A good portfolio of online/offline published articles.

·       Possesses excellent all round IT skills including MS office.

·       Possess excellent organisational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail and high attention to accuracy.

·       Current valid driving licence [and use of a vehicle]

·       Ability to work quickly and accurately to tight deadlines is essential.

·       Is an innovative, creative, and lateral thinker

·       Work on own initiative and bring new ideas to the team.

·       Willingness to continuously develop and attend training and development sessions in line with your personal training plan, on occasion out-with your normal hours of work, to ensure the required level of competence.

 

 

Desirable Qualifications, Experience and Skills

•        Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Marketing, Communications, Advertising and PR.

•        Knowledge of leisure industry.

•        Experience of photography and video.

•        Knowledge of Adobe Indesign.
