National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
The aim of the qualification is to establish competence in pool lifeguard skills including water rescue and life support for personnel employed or as volunteers in the leisure industry as a swimming pool lifeguard. The syllabus covers the criteria laid down in the Health and Safety Commission publication 'Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools’.
Requirements:
Be a minimum of 16 years of age on commencing the course
Jump/dive into deep water
Swim 100m on front continuously
Swim 100m on back continuously
Climb out unaided without using steps/ladders/assistance
Surface dive to the pool floor
Swim 50 metres in no more than 60 seconds
National Pool Lifeguard Examination
To maintain your existing NPLQ qualification you will have to complete this exam, you have to ensure that you have completed a minimum of 20 hours regular continual professional development.
First Aid at Work Standard Course (HSE Approved)
A comprehensive 3 day course covering a wide range of First Aid emergencies and how to deal with them. You will learn First Aid skills to help you deal with everyday accidents including: administer first aid to a casualty with: injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries. You will be able to recognise the presence of major illness and provide appropriate first aid including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma and diabetes. The course is suitable for anyone required to qualify as a First Aider for the workplace and any member of the public requiring a first aid qualification.
Emergency First Aid at Work (HSE Approved)
This course is a minimum six-hour programme (one day) for those people who wish to gain knowledge of emergency procedures and attain a recognised qualification in First Aid.
First Aid at Work Re-Qualification Course (HSE Approved)
This course is to include a revision of topics covered in the three-day programme, together with any updates that have been incorporated into the programme since the candidate completed their original course. Candidates wishing to undertake this training must provide evidence that they hold a current HSE First Aid at Work certificate.

Mixed Martial Arts Fitness Instructor
Introduction
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a rapidly growing sport worldwide, and its presence is now being seen in many health clubs. Combat training is becoming so popular that clubs are catering for this trend with multiple punch bags, varied martial arts classes and even boxing rings.
MMA Fitness is our new fun and dynamic training course that will help you broaden your skills as a personal trainer or group instructor. This course will increase your knowledge of mixed martial arts (MMA) drills, such as bag and pad work, that can be used with virtually all of your clients. You will learn how to use different equipment and techniques to develop challenging, enjoyable and varied sessions.
This course will teach you how mixed-martial arts (MMA) drills can be used to develop fitness in a non-combative environment. You will also learn the correct techniques for a variety of punches, kicks and other strikes and how to link these up into combinations. Great for training in the gym or at home, you will be able to correctly and safely teach and supervise these skills in a one-to-one training environment.
Olympic Lifting Instructor
Introduction
Olympic lifting forms an integral part of the strength and conditioning programmes of many athletes from a wide variety of sports. If you work with athletes from swimming to shot putt, rugby to rowing, then being able to teach and apply the Olympic lifts and modified lifts to your clients will greatly improve their performance. This course covers all of the pre-requisite exercises, the Olympic lifts (Snatch, Clean and Jerk), the modified Olympic lifts and the Olympic Pulls.
This course will teach you the history, benefits, terminology and correct techniques of the Olympic lifts and variations. You will learn how to gradually develop your clients athleticism and speed strength using this form of training, and how to test and implement a sound resistance training programme.
